How To Use This

Choose your swim date and time, and SeaSense runs our proprietary Coastal Readiness Scoring Engine to produce a 0-100 beach score for that exact swim window.

The model is wave-led and exposure-aware: predicted wave height, wind speed, gust profile, and wind direction are weighted against each beach's orientation and shelter characteristics to estimate real swimability, not just generic weather.

We then apply dynamic risk controls for rain runoff and water quality, storm probability, cold-water stress, UV load, tide movement, and recent marine-biological observations. High-risk signals trigger score caps, so unsafe conditions cannot appear artificially favorable.

Final ratings are ranked across all beaches and normalized into clear bands: Good, Fair, and Poor, with transparent driver metrics shown on each card and map marker detail.

Not every beach request will be added, but suggestions are welcome.

Important Safety Disclaimer

SeaSense is an independent guidance tool and is not an official EPA Victoria service. It is general information only and conditions can change quickly.

You are responsible for your own swim decisions. Always verify conditions using official sources and on-site checks before entering the water.

AquaEdge Swim Academy does not guarantee accuracy, completeness, timeliness, safety, or suitability for any swim. To the maximum extent permitted by law, use is at your own risk.

Always check official EPA Victoria guidance before you swim, including Beach Report forecast ratings and alerts: EPA Victoria Check Air and Water Quality.

EPA forecasts are updated during the day (for example, morning and afternoon updates), and alerts may change. If recent or forecast rain, visible stormwater runoff, strong odour, discoloured water, or pollution is present, postpone your swim.

For health protection, avoid swallowing water, avoid swimming near stormwater drains, and do not swim if you feel unwell or unsafe.

In an emergency, call 000.
